The College of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Shatra University discussed today, Thursday, September 3, 2026, the master's thesis of researcher Noor Haidar Mutab, from the Physiology Department, entitled:

“Investigation of the impact of Calcitriol Malmetabolism on Renal Osteodystrophy with Different Stages of Renal Failure in Thi_qar City patients”

The study aimed to assess the stages of chronic kidney failure and how they affect the occurrence of renal bone atrophy by examining a set of biomarkers, hormones, and chemical indicators in patients and comparing them with a healthy group.

The study results showed significant differences between patients and healthy individuals in several lab tests, especially levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH), vitamin D3, phosphate, and calcium, with disease severity linked to more advanced stages of kidney failure.

After thorough discussion of the thesis by the discussion committee and making the necessary scientific adjustments, the thesis was accepted, taking into account the scientific efforts made by the researcher in completing and defending the study.
