Department of Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology

About the Branch

The Physiology Branch was established at the beginning of the college's foundation in 2016. This branch focuses on teaching physiology as a fundamental science, which is the study of body functions, as well as all subjects related to this branch, including pharmacology, general chemistry and biochemistry, animal nutrition, reproductive physiology, animal reproductive diseases, artificial insemination, and others. Most of these courses are prerequisites designed to prepare students in the first, second, third, and fourth years to understand how to diagnose diseases affecting farm animals and how to treat them.

The department consists of four main sections: Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Biochemistry, and General Chemistry. One of the department's objectives is to teach veterinary medicine students the fundamentals of physiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, and general chemistry. The department also implements postgraduate programs for master's and doctoral degrees in physiology and pharmacology and toxicology. The facilities provided by the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology offer a university research environment for postgraduate students.
