The University of Shatrah Council held its first meeting for the academic year 2025-2026, chaired by the University President, Prof. Dr. Bassem Abdulhussein Jarallah, in the presence of all Council members on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, to discuss a number of scientific, educational, and administrative issues.

At the opening of the session, the University President congratulated the members of the Council and all faculty members on the start of the academic year, welcomed the members of the Council, and congratulated the opening of the colleges and departments that were established at the University this year. A number of topics on the Council's agenda were then discussed, and a series of recommendations and decisions were made in accordance with the regulations and ministerial instructions and the powers granted.

The Council discussed the requirements for the start of the academic year and the reception of students, as well as the adoption of scientific standards and indicators of competence and scientific specialization in the assignment of teaching and administrative tasks. It also directed the strengthening of the university's position in the field of guidance activities through the intensification of seminars and practical workshops.

The Chairman of the Council also emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific cooperation with scientific and educational institutions and encouraging scientific publication in international journals, stressing the need to complete the requirements for comprehensive electronic transformation in all aspects of the university and to automate its operations, as well as to complete the equipping of the university's colleges and scientific departments with the necessary furniture and academic supplies.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the Council stressed the importance of strengthening scientific communication between faculty members and utilizing scientific platforms to exchange ideas and proposals in their fields of specialization, which contributes to achieving the university's vision of sustainable development and enhancing its academic standing.
