The College of Veterinary Medicine is discussing the master's thesis submitted by student Aqeel Khazal Ajil, in the Department of Microbiology, today, Thursday, 23/7/2026, in the discussion hall, titled: 'A Study on the Epidemiological and Hematological Aspects of Otodectes cynotis Infestation in Cats in Al-Nasiriyah City'

The study aimed to identify the epidemiological aspects and blood changes associated with domestic cats infected with the parasite Otodectes cynotis (ear mite) in the city of Nasiriyah, and to determine the prevalence of the infection and the influencing factors. It also aimed to assess its impact on some blood indicators, contributing to better diagnosis of the infection and reducing its health effects on cats.

After an in-depth scientific discussion of the thesis topic and some modifications made by the discussion committee, the thesis was accepted, taking into account the student's scientific efforts and his ability to defend his thesis.
