College of Veterinary Medicine Discusses Master’s Thesis on Toxoplasmosis in Women and Cats
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the master’s thesis presented by the student Rabab Ahmed Shuaib, entitled:
“Serological and Molecular Study of Toxoplasmosis in Women and Cats in Al-Nasiriyah City/Iraq”
The study aimed to conduct serological and molecular diagnosis of the parasite Toxoplasma gondii, the causative agent of toxoplasmosis, and to determine its prevalence among women and cats in Al-Nasiriyah City, due to the health importance of this disease as one of the zoonotic diseases shared between humans and animals.
After an extensive scientific discussion of the thesis, the examination committee decided to approve it with a grade of Excellent, with some modifications to be made.
