As part of Entrepreneurship Week and stemming from the principle #YourIdeaIsIraqi_IraqInnovates, under the slogan “From the Land of Mesopotamia, Ideas Emerge”, the College of Veterinary Medicine held a panel discussion entitled “Empowering People with Disabilities Entrepreneurially and Supporting Their Participation in the Labor Market” on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
The session addressed the importance of supporting and empowering people with disabilities by enhancing their entrepreneurial skills and opening new horizons for their integration into the labor market, thereby contributing to sustainable development and strengthening their active role in society.
The panel was presented by Dr. Sarmad Jabbar Jaleel, Lecturer Mujtaba Kareem, and Lecturer Zahraa Al-Batool Ibrahim, who reviewed the major challenges facing this group, as well as discussed modern mechanisms to support their entrepreneurial projects and provide a suitable work environment that ensures their effective participation across various sectors.
