Under the patronage of the President of University of Shatrah , Prof. Dr. Bassem Abdul Hussein Jarallah, the Women's Affairs Division at the University Presidency, in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Units in the Faculties of Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Applied Medical Sciences, Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and Fine Arts, a festive celebration on the occasion of the Iraqi National Day, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis Hall.

The festival began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in memory of the souls of Iraq's righteous martyrs, and then the Iraqi national anthem was played.

In his speech at the ceremony, the university president, Prof. Dr. Bassem Abdul Hussein, expressed his great pride in this eternal national anniversary, which embodies the unity of the Iraqi people and their rich history, stressing the importance of instilling the values of belonging and patriotism in the hearts of students and the academic generation.

The festival also included various poetic and patriotic activities presented by a group of students and participants, through which they expressed their love for Iraq and their attachment to its national identity, amid an atmosphere of joy and pride in this occasion dear to the hearts of all Iraqis.
