"The Department of Science and Technology Parks is one of the University's pioneering pillars. It is responsible for establishing an environment that stimulates innovation and for providing high-quality support to scientific and technical projects. The Department actively seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and practical application by providing students and researchers with specialised training programmes, incubating their start-up projects, and strengthening frameworks of cooperation with the industrial and governmental sectors. The Department is also committed to developing the leadership and entrepreneurial skills of students through an integrated system of purposeful activities, striving to consolidate its position as an effective platform for supporting knowledge production and achieving the goals of sustainable development."

Objectives

​ In our ambition for innovation and entrepreneurship, the Department of Science and Technology Parks seeks to lay the foundations of a comprehensive educational and developmental environment that does not merely provide knowledge, but extends to include the high-quality training and technical guidance needed to drive scientific and technical projects forward. At the forefront of our priorities is stimulating entrepreneurial thinking among students by embracing and refining their ideas so that they are transformed from mere mental concepts into tangible prototypes that can be implemented on the ground.

​At the level of institutional integration, we believe in the need to bridge the gap between academic institutions and the labour market. This is achieved by forming solid strategic partnerships with the public and private sectors and research centres, which include sponsoring promising entrepreneurial projects and providing the technical support needed to ensure their sustainability and growth in a competitive environment, with a fundamental focus on supporting applied scientific research that finds effective solutions to industrial and societal challenges, ensuring the exchange of expertise and the advancement of joint initiatives. We also work to consolidate a culture of creativity on campus through an integrated package of specialised events, ranging from training workshops to innovation competitions that rouse ambition.

Ultimately, all these efforts serve the University's broader vision of becoming a beacon of innovation and technological development through high-quality initiatives that leave a tangible impact on society.

Tasks of the Department of Science and Technology Parks

The Department of Science and Technology Parks undertakes a package of strategic tasks aimed at consolidating a culture of innovation and supporting entrepreneurship. Its tasks are as follows:

Managing science and technology parks to provide an advanced environment for research and development.

· Sponsoring entrepreneurial projects: supporting student initiatives and start-up companies, and providing the tools needed to transform innovative ideas into economically and practically viable projects.

· Qualification and capacity building: organising training workshops and specialised scientific seminars to raise the competence of staff in technical and entrepreneurial fields.

· Activating strategic partnerships: strengthening frameworks of cooperation and integration with industrial and research institutions at the local and international levels.

· Spreading a culture of innovation: holding motivational events and activities that encourage creative thinking and entrepreneurial excellence within the university community.

The Qualification, Employment and Follow-up Division is one of the vital components of our University, representing the strategic vision for transforming academic potential into leading professional competencies. We care for students from their time in the classroom until after graduation, to ensure that educational outcomes are aligned with the evolving requirements of the labour market.

Our vision:

To build a generation of graduates who possess the skills and abilities that make them the first choice in the public and private sectors, and to contribute effectively to economic development.

Our main tasks:

* Qualification and development: organising intensive workshops and training courses to develop "soft skills" (Soft Skills) such as leadership, time management and writing a professional CV.

* Employment and work partnerships: building bridges of cooperation with companies and institutions to open up employment prospects for our graduates, and organising annual "job fairs".

Entrepreneurship Division: .. your gateway to a promising, innovative future.

The Entrepreneurship Division at our University is the main pillar for supporting young talent, and the bridge that connects the classroom with the evolving labour market. We believe that the student is not merely a recipient of information, but a future innovator and successful business leader.

Our objectives and services:

* Spreading a culture of self-employment: strengthening the spirit of initiative and innovation among students and graduates.

* Training and development: organising workshops and specialised courses on how to prepare feasibility studies, build business plans and develop management skills.

* Incubation and guidance: providing an advisory environment through a select group of experts to accompany the owners of ideas from the "idea" stage to the "implementation" stage.

* Networking: connecting creative students with supporting institutions, investors and business incubators in Iraq and abroad.

Scientific Output Marketing Division: a bridge between knowledge and the labour market

The Scientific Output Marketing Division is the main engine for transforming academic ideas and research innovations into real solutions that serve society and support the national economy. We believe that knowledge reaches its full value only when it meets the needs of the public and private sectors.

Our vision

Leadership in transforming our University's scientific output from "research on paper" into "projects and applications" that contribute to sustainable development.

Our core tasks

* Inventorying and documenting innovations: archiving all patents, applied research and entrepreneurial projects completed by the University's teaching staff and students.

* Promotion and marketing: preparing scientific publications and catalogues that present the University's output to investors and companies.

* Building partnerships: concluding memoranda of understanding with industrial and productive sectors to invest Iraqi minds in solving problems in the field.

* Participation in forums: representing the University at scientific exhibitions and specialised conferences to present the latest innovations.

* Technical consultancy: providing a link between the researcher and the beneficiary body to ensure that scientific output is applied in the best possible way.

Technology Incubator Division: from idea to entrepreneurship

The Technology Incubator Division is the bridge linking academic output with the labour market. We seek to enable students, graduates and researchers to transform their innovative ideas and scientific projects into successful start-up companies (Startups) that contribute to supporting the national economy.
