The teacher, Dr. Hassan Rahim Hassan, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs at the College of Engineering / University of Shatrah, participated in the first in-person meeting of the deans of engineering colleges in Iraq, which was hosted by the College of Engineering / Anbar University on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
The meeting witnessed the discussion of a number of important topics on the agenda, most notably the evaluation examination in a number of engineering specializations, including civil engineering, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity for the third and fourth stages, in addition to activating the Bologna system, following up on its implementation mechanisms, and determining the stages and academic subjects associated with it. The meeting also discussed updating the curricula. Engineering in cooperation with industrial advisory councils and keeping pace with labor market requirements and scientific and technical developments, in addition to discussing a number of issues that contribute to the development of engineering education in Iraqi universities.
The meeting began with welcoming speeches from the President of Anbar University, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Amir Abdul Rahman, in the presence of the Chairman and members of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Engineering in Iraq.
The meeting stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and unifying visions on common issues between engineering colleges in a way that supports the development of curricula and academic programs and enhances the quality of engineering education in Iraqi universities.
This participation comes within the efforts aimed at enhancing academic communication and following up on developments related to engineering specializations in line with the requirements of scientific and technical development.
