The Quality Assurance and University Performance Division is one of the important divisions in the College of Engineering and contributes significantly to setting the college's general strategic policies. This division was established in 2023 and has undertaken to implement all programmes aimed at achieving total quality management. One of its most important objectives is the continuous pursuit of assuring and improving the quality of university education.
Plans, Objectives and Strategic Directions of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division:
The plans, objectives and strategic directions of the Quality Assurance Department stem from the philosophy of the college, which bases its future vision and strategic mission on the extent of its contribution to achieving its objectives, through the adoption of a set of procedures to achieve consistency with the institutional work approach in the college. This is done through the following:
• Raising the level of the college's performance and strengthening its scientific capabilities at all levels by ensuring that it applies the national accreditation and quality assurance systems and standards adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which are consistent with the standards of accreditation organisations in developed countries.
• Seeking to spread a culture of quality among the college's staff and encouraging studies and the holding of conferences, seminars, meetings and workshops in the field of quality, accreditation and related subjects.
• Identifying levels of performance and measuring changes in the performance of the various departments to determine the extent and levels of quality and accreditation achieved in them, through the adoption of the academic description form and course templates. The college is committed to continuously reviewing and evaluating performance at all levels and in all aspects and tracks, and to using the results to identify areas of weakness and develop appropriate solutions to improve the quality of performance.
• Studying the needs of the labour market for new scientific specialisations and developing plans and strategies to meet them, through the evaluation of the college's outputs by labour market institutions, by involving these bodies in advisory councils, regularly holding joint workshops, discussing the college's outputs and working to develop them in light of the needs of the labour market.
• Qualifying and self-developing the college's graduates to assume responsibility and enter the labour market competently through continuing education courses and programmes and the Training and Career Development Centre, so that they can make sound decisions and contribute to serving the community.
• Helping students overcome problems that hinder their success in learning and their educational progress.
• Supporting and urging faculty members and researchers in the college to give broad attention to their scientific research in order to reach the required level of quality in education and scientific research.
• Organising, holding and attending conferences, seminars and workshops on quality in order to keep abreast of the latest scientific developments.
• The college is firmly committed to strengthening the individual and institutional leadership roles that drive its scientific and academic progress, with a deep belief in the professionalism, responsibility and creativity of every member of staff working in a spirit of teamwork.
