Secretariat of the College Council

The Secretariat of the College Council is the body responsible for the meetings of the College Council. It is linked to the Dean of the College (Chair of the College Council) and receives its directives directly from him. The Council is made up of the Dean of the College, the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs and the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, in addition to the heads of the scientific departments and the Secretary of the College Council. The Secretariat documents the minutes of the scientific departments and refers them to the relevant parties for a scientific or administrative opinion in accordance with ministerial and university laws and instructions; prepares the agenda of the items to be presented to the members of the Council; and drafts what has been discussed as decisions or recommendations in the minutes of the College Council, which are then submitted to the University Presidency to obtain the formal approvals. The Secretariat also documents the minutes of each session of the University Council and refers them to the Associate Deans to take the necessary action on their items and to circulate its directives to all members of the Council so that they may in turn circulate them to their staff.

The College Council is the main forum for discussing appropriate solutions to scientific or administrative issues and problems facing the college that might hinder scientific or administrative work, for taking decisions or drafting appropriate recommendations agreed upon unanimously or by a majority of the Council members, and for obtaining the formal approvals to implement these recommendations.
