The University of Shatrah participated in the Arabic Language and Literature Award ceremony held today, Sunday, 17 August 2025, at the Ministry headquarters in the Ibn Fadlan Hall, with broad official and academic attendance. The University was represented by the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Fadhil Muhsin Hamad, and a group of the University's faculty members at this ceremony, which embodies the standing of the Arabic language as a vessel of identity, knowledge and creativity, today, Sunday
In his speech during the ceremony, the Minister of Higher Education explained that these awards establish an integrated path that consolidates the mission of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in building an academic environment that stimulates creativity and is connected to all fields of knowledge, indicating that their purpose is to establish a climate of sustainable awareness carried by academics that makes them more able to contribute effectively to the scientific and cultural movement and to serve as a source of competitive talent in regional and international forums.”.
For his part, Asst. Prof. Dr. Fadhil Muhsin Hamad, head of the delegation, expressed his pride in the University's participation in this cultural and academic forum, saying: “The presence of the University of Shatrah at this ceremony represents an academic and scientific commitment towards our mother tongue, and reflects the University's keenness to be an active partner in the projects of scientific and cultural renaissance that serve society and support the progress of higher education”.
The occasion concluded with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, honouring the winners of the Arabic Language and Literature Award, which included five million dinars for the first-place winner, three million dinars for the second-place winner and two million dinars for the third-place winner, in addition to honouring a number of officials of scientific institutions.
