Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, President of the University of Shatrah, the University's Volunteer Work Committee organised today, Thursday, 25 September 2025, a volunteer campaign and visit to the Elderly Care Home in Dhi Qar Governorate, within the framework of strengthening social responsibility and consolidating a culture of social solidarity.
A number of faculty members and employees took part in the campaign, providing in-kind assistance and foodstuffs, along with organising recreational and humanitarian activities aimed at bringing joy to the hearts of the elderly and making them feel appreciated and cared for.
The University Presidency affirmed that this initiative is an extension of a series of volunteer activities that the University is keen to carry out, stemming from its moral and humanitarian mission of serving the community, stressing the importance of respecting and caring for the elderly and strengthening the spirit of volunteer work among the University's staff.
