Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Jabbar Hayawi, the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering held a central celebration on the occasion of Iraqi National Day today, Thursday, 2 October 2025, in the Martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis Hall.
The programme of the ceremony included a recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha for the martyrs of Iraq, the playing of the national anthem and the distribution of Iraqi flags. On the sidelines of the ceremony, a workshop entitled "Strengthening National Identity and the Role of Academic Institutions in Supporting the National Journey" was organised in cooperation with the Iraqi Association for Political Science in Dhi Qar
The workshop aimed to shed light on the importance of Iraqi National Day in strengthening national identity and consolidating the values of national belonging in the hearts of generations, in addition to discussing the role of academic and scientific institutions in supporting and guiding the national journey through scientific research and active participation in the development of society.
