University of Shatrah Organises a Workshop Entitled "University Psychological Counselling and Its Role in Advancing the Educational Process"

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, the University's Psychological Counselling Unit organised a workshop entitled "University Psychological Counselling and Its Role in Advancing the Educational Process" today, Thursday, 2 October 2025, in the University's Discussions Hall, with the participation of the heads of the university psychological counselling units in the colleges.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Fadhil Muhsin Hamad spoke at the workshop, stressing the role that university psychological counselling plays in the integration of the educational process through constant communication with students on the one hand and with teaching and administrative staff on the other, and through holding counselling activities related to the behaviour of university students.

Lect. Dr. Murtadha Abdul-Ameer Mohammed also directed the heads of the counselling units to work in accordance with the updated counselling guide, to implement the counselling programme approved by the University Council, to hold seminars for students to introduce them to the role of the counsellor within the college, and to activate joint work with the counselling committees in the scientific departments

This workshop comes within a series of events that the University of Shatrah seeks to organise with the aim of enhancing psychological support for students and contributing to the development of the educational process in general.
