Two Faculty Members from the University of Shatrah Take Part in the Work of the British–Iraqi Council for Developing English Language Departments

Asst. Prof. Dr. Rafi Muhsin Alwan, Head of the Department of English Language at the College of Education for Girls, and Lect. Dr. Tahseen Ali Ahmed, Head of the Department of English Language at the College of Education / Al-Dawaia, took part in the work of the joint academic meeting organised by the British Council, with the participation of the heads of English language departments in Iraqi universities.

During the sessions, the two faculty members presented scientific visions and proposals on ways of raising the efficiency of university English language teaching and updating curricula in accordance with international standards. Asst. Prof. Dr. Rafi Muhsin Hamad affirmed that “international cooperation contributes to developing the skills of students and professors alike, and opens new horizons for joint scientific research.”

For his part, the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, praised the participation of the University's faculty members in such scientific forums, affirming that the University pays special attention to international cooperation and the development of academic performance, which is reflected positively in the quality of higher education in Iraq
