His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, honoured the University of Shatrah in appreciation of its distinguished efforts in the field of volunteer work, as part of the activities of the First Conference on Volunteer Work for 2025, held in the presence of the presidents of Iraqi universities, the Head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate and a number of professors and students.
During his speech at the conference, His Excellency the Minister praised the effective role played by Iraqi universities in promoting a culture of volunteer work and consolidating the values of citizenship and social responsibility, affirming that the volunteer initiatives offered by universities reflect the mission of higher education in serving society and building the human being.
For his part, the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for this honour, affirming that what has been achieved is the fruit of the joint efforts of the University's staff and students in consolidating a culture of volunteer work and community service, and explaining that the University will continue to support volunteer initiatives and promote social responsibility in line with the Ministry's orientation and vision of building the human being and serving the homeland
This honour is considered an affirmation of the University of Shatrah's standing among Iraqi universities in the fields of volunteer work and community service, and a consolidation of its role in supporting the orientation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research aimed at strengthening community partnership and entrenching the values of cooperation and human solidarity.
