Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, the Department of Student Activities – Cultural Activities Unit at the University Presidency organised a short story competition on Monday, 3 November 2025, in the Discussions Hall, in the presence of the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Raed Majeed Jabbar.
The competition aimed to discover young literary talents and encourage students to develop their skills in creative writing and literary expression, as part of the University's programmes aimed at supporting cultural and intellectual activities.
The judging committee consisted of:-

The results of the competition were as follows:
Fatima Kamal Obaid – College of Engineering / First Place
Fatima Masoud – College of Engineering / Second Place
Ali Talib – College of Engineering / Third Place
Amna Rahman – College of Education for Girls / Fourth Place
At the conclusion of the competition, the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs presented certificates of appreciation to the winning and participating students, praising the level of creativity and literary excellence they had shown, and affirming that the University will continue to support cultural initiatives that contribute to building an aware and creative generation.
