On Monday, 24 November 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Fadhil Muhsin Hamad, Assistant President of the University of Shatrah for Scientific Affairs, held an expanded meeting with the heads of the biological, chemical and radiological safety and security units and the heads of sections in the University's colleges, in their capacity as representatives of the central committee responsible for confronting the risks of radiation and environmental pollution.
During the meeting, the procedures for implementing the recommendations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding protection from radiological, biological and chemical pollutants were reviewed, in addition to discussing mechanisms for strengthening prevention programmes within the University and ways of raising the efficiency of safety teams in dealing with hazardous materials, identifying sources of radiation and reducing their effects.
The meeting also discussed the details of field plans for risk management and reviewed the level of readiness of the colleges in applying safety standards, so as to ensure a safe university environment that complies with ministerial instructions.
