As part of its efforts to enhance academic openness and develop artistic and research skills, the University of Shatrah has announced the conclusion of a preliminary scientific and cultural cooperation agreement with Berlin Arts Institute in the Federal Republic of Germany, during the official visit made by the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, to the German capital, Berlin.
The agreement aims to train faculty members and students in the fields of fine arts, organise joint workshops and exchange academic expertise, as well as to open the way for implementing short- and long-term training programmes in Germany, thereby contributing to raising the quality of educational performance and developing the creative abilities of the University's students.
During the visit, the President of the University affirmed that the University of Shatrah seeks to “establish effective international partnerships that contribute to raising the University's scientific standing and give its students and faculty members real opportunities to connect with prestigious international educational institutions”.
Officials of the Berlin Arts Institute also expressed their welcome for cooperation with the University of Shatrah, noting that the agreement represents an important step towards strengthening cultural and artistic exchange between the two countries and opens broad horizons for joint research and artistic projects.
This agreement comes within the University's plan to develop its academic programmes, update the skills of its staff and expand its network of international relations in keeping with global developments in the fields of art and higher education. These understandings are to be finalised at a later stage in approved official formats to be signed by the two parties.
