Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, the Chemical, Biological and Radiological Safety and Security Division of the University Presidency organised a scientific seminar entitled «Raising Awareness of the Dangers of Radiation and Environmental Pollution from a Biological Perspective, with an Introduction to Cellular Damage» on Sunday 21 December 2025 in the Discussion Hall, with the participation of a number of teaching staff, employees and students. The seminar was delivered by Lect. Dr. Sally Salih Jumaa and Asst. Lect. Hiba Shakir Hussein.
The seminar addressed multiple scientific themes focusing on the dangers of radiation and environmental pollution and their biological effects, highlighting the mechanisms of cellular damage and the resulting health effects, as well as reviewing ways of preventing and reducing these risks in accordance with approved safety standards.
This seminar is part of a series of scientific and awareness activities that the University of Shatrah is keen to organise, in line with its academic mission of serving the community and promoting the concepts of safety and environmental health.
