The University of Shatrah Council held its regular session, chaired by the President of the University and attended by the members of the Council, to discuss a number of important issues on its agenda and take appropriate decisions and recommendations on them, so as to contribute to the development of the academic and administrative process at the university.
The session included discussion of the files for establishing the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Art Education, as part of the university's efforts to establish scientific and humanities specialisations that meet the requirements of the labour market and the needs of society. The Council also discussed the file for establishing the College of Law and completing the academic and administrative requirements necessary for this project.
The Council considered a number of requests falling within its powers and took appropriate decisions on them in accordance with the laws and regulations in force. The Council also directed that all necessary preparations be completed for holding the Entrepreneurship Week activities at the university, so as to strengthen the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
In the same context, the Council stressed the importance of placing teaching staff working in administrative roles at the University Presidency within the colleges and involving them in teaching when needed, in line with their specialisations and academic qualifications, so as to help fill shortages and support the educational process.
The session also discussed the outcomes of the meeting held by the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs with senior staff, reviewing the main recommendations and observations that would improve administrative performance and strengthen institutional work at the university.
This session is part of the University Council's ongoing efforts to improve the academic and administrative situation and to achieve the university's goals in education, development and community service.
