Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Al-Ghazi, the Student Activities Department – Volunteer Work Division organised, on Thursday 19 February 2026, an awareness campaign entitled “With Knowledge We Confront Extremism”, as part of its ongoing efforts to raise intellectual awareness and spread a culture of moderation among students.
The campaign aimed to highlight the importance of knowledge and learning in confronting extremist ideas, to consolidate the values of tolerance and respect for difference, and to strengthen the spirit of constructive dialogue within the university community. The campaign also stressed the pivotal role of young people in building a safe and stable society based on awareness and responsibility.
The campaign saw notable engagement from students, and included the distribution of awareness messages and educational guidance stressing that knowledge is the most important weapon in confronting intellectual deviation, and that the university is a platform for spreading enlightened thought and promoting the principles of peaceful coexistence.
