The Assistant President of the University of Shatrah for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Raed Majeed Jabbar, held a joint meeting on Sunday 23 February 2026 bringing together the Volunteer Work Committee of the Office Affairs Department and the Volunteer Work Division of the Student Activities Department, to discuss ways of strengthening volunteer work within the university and organising efforts during the holy month of Ramadan, in implementation of the directives of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
During the meeting, the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs stressed the importance of activating volunteer work and consolidating its culture among students and staff, given its positive impact in strengthening the spirit of cooperation, belonging and social responsibility, and emphasised the need for integrated efforts among the relevant departments and divisions to achieve the university's goals in this field.
The meeting resulted in the formation of a joint committee to implement a number of volunteer initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan, most notably holding an iftar banquet for students in the university residences, as well as organising a religious and educational seminar during the days of the holy month, which will help strengthen moral and human values among students.
The meeting also stressed the need to give attention to World Tree Planting Day, which falls on 12 March 2026, by carrying out a tree-planting campaign in the university grounds and increasing green spaces, so as to provide a healthy and attractive environment suitable for students and staff and to reflect the university's keenness to support sustainable environmental initiatives.
