Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Al-Ghazi, the Student Residence Affairs Department / Social Researcher Division, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Centre, organised today, Sunday 12 April 2026, an awareness seminar entitled "Types of Fire, Firefighting Methods, Types of Fire Extinguishers and How to Use Them".
The seminar aimed to raise awareness among students and staff of fire prevention methods and the correct handling of emergencies, in addition to introducing the types of fire extinguishers and how to use them safely and effectively.
The seminar was delivered by Mr. Aqeel Hayawi Masir and Police Commissioner Murtadha Abbas Zghair, who gave a detailed explanation, supported by practical examples, of the causes of fires and ways to reduce them, as well as reviewing the most important preventive measures to be followed.
This seminar is part of a series of activities that the University of Shatrah is keen to organise with the aim of raising awareness and enhancing the safety of students and staff.
