The Student Activities Department took part in the (Classical Poetry and Master of Ceremonies) competition, held as part of the student activities programme of the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Apparatus for 2026, at the National University of Science and Technology and Al-Ayen Iraqi University in Dhi Qar Province from 19 to 23/4/2026, hosted by a number of public and private universities.
The competition saw the participation of 42 public and private universities. Entries were evaluated by a jury that adopted precise evaluation criteria, with marks allocated 60% for poetic performance and 40% for master of ceremonies skills.
In the same context, the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, affirmed his full support for the university's students and his continuous encouragement of their active participation in ministerial activities and competitions, explaining that such participation helps enhance students' oratorical and creative abilities, develops their university character, and consolidates the university's presence in scientific and cultural forums.
This competition is part of the Ministry of Higher Education's efforts to strengthen cultural identity and support the literary talents of university students, contributing to creating an educated generation that combines academic achievement with artistic creativity.
