The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering organised a scientific trip for second-year students to the Prosthetics Centre and Nasiriyah Turkish General Hospital, with the aim of strengthening the applied side and linking theoretical concepts with practice, as well as introducing students to the latest technologies in the medical field.
The delegation was received by a number of administrative, medical and technical staff. The visit also included a tour of the hospital's departments, during which they learned about the nature of clinical work and the medical equipment used in providing healthcare.
The trip was supervised by the Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Lect. Dr. Azhar Abdul-Hassan Shallal, with the participation of a number of the department's teaching staff, who accompanied the students in the field and provided the necessary scientific guidance to achieve the maximum scientific and practical benefit.
This trip is part of the university's efforts to develop students' practical skills and prepare them for the labour market, as well as to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between academic institutions and the health sector, thereby contributing to the development of the educational process.
