Within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's directions aimed at supporting innovation and consolidating the concepts of the knowledge economy, under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Al-Ghazi, and the supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Fadhil Mohsen Hamad, the University of Shatrah, represented by its Science and Technology Parks Department, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Science and Technology Parks Department of the National University of Science and Technology.
The memorandum aims to broaden the horizons of scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship and to support scientific and research projects, as well as to provide an incubating environment for creative ideas and entrepreneurial projects that serve the community and sustainable development.
The memorandum also includes a number of areas of joint cooperation, most notably incubating the innovative projects of students and researchers, exchanging expertise and experience in managing technology incubators, and organising scientific conferences, seminars and exhibitions, in addition to holding training and development programmes that help hone the skills of students and graduates and prepare them to enter the labour market.
During the meeting, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs stressed the importance of this partnership in strengthening the innovation system within the university, praising the active role played by the National University of Science and Technology in supporting scientific and research activities and building fruitful academic partnerships.
For his part, the Assistant President of the National University of Science and Technology for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Falah Hassan Al-Asadi, welcomed the University of Shatrah delegation, stressing the importance of strengthening joint cooperation among Iraqi universities and exchanging expertise to develop the teaching and research environment and support innovation and creativity projects.
