The President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Al-Ghazi, met the Chairman of the Dhi Qar Provincial Council, Mr. Izzat Al-Nashi, at the Council's headquarters to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation and to strengthen the partnership between the academic institution and the local government.
During his official visit, the President of the University was accompanied by the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Raed Majeed Jabbar.
The meeting saw in-depth discussions focusing on strengthening the mechanisms of joint cooperation between the two sides and working to overcome all obstacles, in the service of the educational and development process in the province.
During the meeting, the President of the University also affirmed the university's full readiness to provide the local government and the Provincial Council with the scientific, advisory and academic expertise available in the university's colleges and research centres, within the framework of institutionalising the relationship between the university and the Provincial Council.
