University of Shatrah Raises the Banner of Grief and Sacrifice to Mark the Beginning of the Holy Month of Muharram

Today, Wednesday 17 June 2026, the University of Shatrah held a ceremony to raise the banner of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), "the Banner of Grief and Sacrifice", marking the arrival of the holy month of Muharram and commemorating the immortal epic of Al-Taff.

During the ceremony, the President of the University affirmed that raising the banner of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) at the beginning of the holy month of Muharram embodies the university's attachment to the lofty human and Islamic values called for by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), namely reform, justice and sacrifice for the sake of truth, noting that this occasion is an important moment to draw lessons from the immortal Husseini revolution.
