"Financial Transparency of Higher Education Funds"

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Girls, Prof. Dr. Afrah Abd Maktouf Al-Ghazi, the College of Education for Girls – University of Shatrah held a workshop entitled:

"Financial Transparency of Higher Education Funds", delivered by the faculty member Lect. Dr. Jeen Yasser Hussein, Director of the college's Legal Division, in the Postgraduate Studies Hall.

During the workshop, the lecturer addressed the concept of financial transparency and its importance in managing higher education funds, as one of the fundamental pillars for promoting integrity and limiting manifestations of administrative and financial corruption within educational institutions. She also reviewed the main legislative controls and instructions in force regulating the work of financial funds and the approved spending procedures, so as to ensure the soundness of financial procedures and the good management of resources.

The workshop aimed to:

Promote the principles of integrity and transparency in financial transactions within the university institution.

Introduce the legal and regulatory controls governing higher education funds.

Explain the spending mechanisms and procedures approved according to official channels.

Limit wrong practices that may lead to waste or financial corruption.

Consolidate a culture of self-monitoring and good governance in administrative work.

The workshop saw notable attendance, comprising the Dean of the College, members of the teaching staff and administrative and financial staff, with scientific discussions and contributions that enriched the topic and allowed the exchange of expertise, thereby strengthening the application of the concepts of transparency in practice.

This workshop is part of the approach of the College of Education for Girls – University of Shatrah to supporting the principles of good governance and strengthening the system of integrity and oversight, contributing to developing institutional performance and achieving a university environment based on transparency and responsibility.
