The Operating Systems Lab, using the Ubuntu Linux distribution, is the core applied environment in Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. This laboratory moves students from traditional graphical interfaces to an understanding of the kernel, computer resource management and system programming through the command line (CLI), which is the foundation on which artificial intelligence servers and cloud computing systems are built.

Vision

To prepare engineers proficient in computing infrastructure and open-source operating systems, capable of managing complex working environments, configuring network servers, and supporting environments for running artificial intelligence algorithms with high efficiency and stability.

Mission

To provide a practical training environment based on Ubuntu to deepen students' understanding of how operating systems work (such as process, memory and file management). The laboratory focuses on refining shell scripting skills and system control through the terminal, and on preparing students to work with production servers and the technical labour market.

Core Laboratory Objectives (Lab Objectives)

Terminal Command Proficiency: enabling students to work fully with the file system, permissions and users via the command line without needing a graphical interface.

Bash Shell Scripting: training students to write scripts to automate repetitive tasks in the operating system, check conditions and repeat operations.

Process Management: teaching students how to monitor active background processes, control their priorities, and terminate hung processes (ps, top, kill).
