Department of Student Activities

Vision:

To provide education, training, management and organisation of sports and artistic activities to support the sporting and artistic journey inside and outside the University, in addition to the cultural journey, by holding seminars, festivals and conferences for the students of our generous University, and to raise the standard of preparing the ideal student to serve the nation in the development process, using methods built on modern scientific foundations for advanced cultural and sporting development, in order to supply society with scientific and artistic competencies

Mission:

- Refining the youthful talents of students in sport and the arts and helping them to develop them

- Encouraging students to participate in championships, festivals, seminars and conferences to develop their leadership and administrative spirit

- Developing the coaching and refereeing abilities of the staff of the Department of Student Activities in all sports and athletic events

Tasks of the Department:

- Following up the implementation of the University's external programme, the Ministry's programme and its sports championships

- Preparing the sports programme for the academic year for the University's formations

- Following up the implementation of the University's programme

- Following up, caring for and rewarding champion students

- Participating in preparing the University's graduation ceremonies

- Supporting volunteer initiatives and community service

- Encouraging cooperation between colleges through joint activities

About the Department:

The Department of Student Activities is one of the vital departments of the University, as it seeks to develop the student's personality and refine his talents and abilities beyond purely academic aspects. The Department organises and sponsors various cultural, artistic, sporting and social events and programmes, in addition to supporting volunteer initiatives and activities aimed at serving the community. The Department is also keen to instil the values of cooperation and team spirit among students and to give them opportunities to express their energies and creativity, contributing to building a balanced and creative generation that combines academic excellence with social awareness. Through its diverse activities, the Department forms a rich university environment that strengthens belonging and consolidates university identity.

Tasks of the Divisions of the Department

1- Cultural Division

- Organising cultural and literary competitions such as (poetry, the short story, the essay and recitation)

- Holding seminars, lectures and discussion sessions in various intellectual and scientific fields.

- Organising cultural exhibitions of books, arts and student works

- Sponsoring student talent in the fields of writing, public speaking, theatre and intellectual activities.

2- Artistic Division

- Organising art exhibitions (drawing, photography, handicrafts and Arabic calligraphy)

- Staging theatrical and artistic performances in cooperation with student groups

- Supporting student initiatives of an artistic and creative nature.

- Contributing to documenting university activities with distinguished photographs and artworks.

3- Sports Division

- Organising internal championships between colleges and departments in various individual and team sports.

- Preparing university sports teams and representing the University in local and international championships.

- Holding training courses and workshops in various sports

- Equipping and upgrading infrastructure, sports grounds and halls in coordination with the relevant bodies.

- Discovering, nurturing and refining sporting talent among students

4- Scouting Division

- Organising scout troops and groups and supervising their activities within the University.

- Holding scout camps and training courses to raise students' skills in leadership, discipline and self-reliance

- Involving students in public service campaigns, volunteer work and community initiatives.

- Training students in first aid, emergency and rescue skills

5- Volunteering Division

- Organising and coordinating volunteer initiatives inside and outside the University

- Instilling a spirit of volunteer work and social responsibility in students

- Holding training courses and workshops on volunteer work and the development of leadership skills

- Documenting students' volunteer hours and activities in support of their university careers
