Awareness of Early Detection of Breast Cancer

The College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Shatrah Organises an Awareness Seminar Entitled "The Importance of Early Detection of Breast Cancer"

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah,

and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, Prof. Dr. Imad Kadhim Yasser,

the Women's Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Cultural Division, organised an awareness seminar entitled "The Importance of Early Detection of Breast Cancer", delivered by Dr. Afyaa Mohsen, with Assistant Lecturer Israa Hashim Mankhi as rapporteur, at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, 26 October 2025, in the College's seminar hall.

The seminar was presented by specialist Dr. Afyaa Mohsen Al-Sinjari, who addressed in her lecture a number of themes related to methods of prevention and the importance of regular self-examination for early detection of the disease, as well as the role of health awareness in reducing incidence and mortality rates.

The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of health education and to encourage women to undergo regular check-ups for the early detection of breast cancer, as this contributes significantly to increasing the chances of recovery and reducing complications.

The seminar included an explanatory presentation on detection methods and the early signs of the disease, in addition to interactive discussions between the attendees and the lecturer on modern methods of diagnosis and treatment.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the awareness-raising role played by the University in promoting a culture of preventive health within the academic and local communities was commended.
